Making an Overnight Basket for Guests

Part of entertaining includes over night visitors, and you can have fun turning your home into a pretend B&B. First thing's first - you must give your home a name!

Write a fun welcome note that includes information like wifi and where things are located (your guest may already know this but its part of the fun). Then have fun brainstorming some of your favorite activities around your home (things to do, places to eat, etc.) Write these things out but use embellished wording like "view a film in the lower level screening room" a.k.a. watch a movie in the basement.

Create a basket with some essentials like towels, washcloths, and water bottles. Then add some unique touches such as a spa kit, PJ pants (that don't fit anymore), and even a little snack (home-made would be better).

Have the basket waiting in the guest room or whichever room your guest is using, which will make them feel at home and that the room is theirs.

Have a light on before they arrive to welcome them. Clean out a drawer in the room so they have a space to put their things. And enjoy the company!
